The party they belong to AGREES with them on the issues being discussed, and the candidate running SUPPORTS those same issues! WTF is so hard to understand?

What is hard to understand is how you think the entire world can be reduced to a binary decision. You're either with us or against us is not realistic. Issues are complex and come in shades of gray, and require analysis, not blind allegiance.

Looked pretty damn black & white when I stood in the voting booth. Your "shades of gray" candidates pulled in about .002% of the total votes cast! What did you do, push both buttons at once, perhaps one a little harder than the other, or what?

Right, I could still be a Republican and disagree with some issues. A lot of Republicans are like that, they don't like Bush's massive spending habit, but there's no where else for them to go, certainly not the Democrate party.

Exactly what I am trying to say. For some reason people within a party think they are going to go to hell if they ever vote for the opposing party. I know many Rep. Bush haters around here that will vote for him because they can't stand a democrat being in office, why? If they can openly admit they do not like Bush and that Kerry was the better candidate, why not vote for whom they see better?

Note: I am not trying to say Kerry WAS the better candidate, that was just a reference to what I have seen in my class. I am also not trying to start stuff with you Glenn, I am just upset you called me stupid and engaged in personal attacks. This thread was never meant to start any little fights like that, I am looking for an honest reason as to why people don't think outside the box.

"...why not vote for whom they see better?"

How about thinking INSIDE the box for a second? When a late term abortion bill gets placed before your candidate, once he gets in office, will he pass it or veto it? How about Social Security privatization? Will he raise or lower taxes on businesses? Will he go along with allotting more money for national security? Will he veto national health care legislation? School vouchers?

"Whom they see better" is the candidate who WILL pass the issues they agree with, and VETO issues they're against. Is this getting too complicated?
