Why is everyone acting like the NBA playoff seeding system is retarded??

win your division get a high seed, finish runner up and get in as a wildcard/lower-seed....it's the same in the NFL, NHL, and MLB

MLB and NHL is like a crapshoot in the playoffs. The best team doesn't always win.

Actually I think in the NHL it really shows a teams strengths and weaknesses. For instance, go back to the ...98 I think playoffs. Det. Vs. Col. Detroit had the offensive attack. They had one 70 some games during the regular season. Colorado had a ton of defense. Everyone was expecting Det to win. In the end, Col. did because they showed the Wings weakness that year.

It's better for the Clippers to lose and stay in the 6th spot rather for them to win and move up to the 5th spot. How is that NOT retarded?

The only thing I'd like to see different in the NBA playoffs is fewer wildcard teams.

I think it's somewhat of a joke that more than half of the teams in the league make it into the playoffs.

Just because it's always been that way doesn't make it right. Teams should be seeded within the conference by record, period. Or they should rearrange the divisions. It only seems to be a problem in the West, where the top two teams for the last several years are in the same division.

Being a Dallas fan, I don't really care because for the Mavs to make it to the championship they are going to have to get past the Spurs in the playoffs regardless.
But it just seems ridiculous that a 60+ win team is seeded below a team with less than 50 wins(lowely nuggets)

And it's certainly not fair the the #5 seed to have to play a 60+ win team in the first round.
