Why is even the off-topic so tech-oriented?

Back in the good old days, the off-topic forum was a place where non-tech stuff could be discussed. Now it looks like it is geeked-out too. What gives?

Because we're all geeks, or atleast pretending we're geeks. And there are a lot of lamers that just post in OT. It's nuts.

gee, nothing there is *that* high tech... pretty much common discussions these days 😛
Next thing you know, someone's going to be complaining about a thread on calculators... "geeez, these calculator things are too high tech for me, why can't we be just off topic"

/end harrassing older member who does a LOT of lurking (or has had difficulty figuring out how to turn on his compuer since 1999)

😛 🙂

There are tech topics in OT now? It seems to mostly be threads about Lindsay Lohan pictures, YAGT, cars, wearing your shirt with the collar up, etc. I guess there are a few, but I wouldn't really call OT "tech oriented".

I just looked at the titles on the first page of OT, which for me is 100 threads, and I don't see that many techie (not sure if that's a word, and if it is, if that's how it's spelled 😉) threads.
