Why is DDR1 so expensive compared to DDR2?

My guess is that it's supply and demand. There is more DDR2 out today than DDR1, but I was just wondering what the group might say. I can't find a 1GB unit under $40...which is sad. I can buy 2GB DDR2 for like $24 on sale at fry's every weekend.

Supply and demand I agree. Coupled w/ a theory that DDR2 production was put into overdrive which gives DDR2 a greater supply.
