Why is crude oil called Light sweet oil?

Because you use it on salads with vinegar. If it wasn't light and sweet it wouldn't go very well with vinegar, would it?

It refers to the amount of refining needed to produce gas, diesel, etc. The "light sweet" stuff is less expensive to refine.

Sluggo is right, sweet refers to low sulfur content and sour is high sulfur content. And Lvis is also right - light crude can be refined in a simpler, cheaper refinery than heavy crude.

You feel alienated from your parents or vice versa, attractive young women dont take your flirting seriously anymore, your friends are idiots, your job is boring. Your life is without challenge, maybe without meaning, and possibly without hope. Nothing is certain but death and taxes. Your not rich enough to control events and not poor enough to stop trying.

Welcome to middle aged, middle class America.

Love that quote!
