I looked on newegg and the crucial memory is so expensive compared to the other brands... i know crucial is the best company, but why make its prices so high... one day i saw it was like $160.. like 2 weeks ago.. and then 2 weeks ago, 2 days later its $190... but now it dropped to $185.. is it worth it over the corsair memory which is $168 or the pc2100 DDR both corsair and cruciall which is $185 but same exact ram... which one is better considering price too!

Actually that's an opinion. Memory prices are very volatile.

I guess you have answered your own question.

You can buy a Hyundai a lot cheaper than you can a BMW. :)

Thats hard to quantify, Corsair is a company that buys its RAM from various manufacturers and and puts it on its own PCB. Crucial memory is 100% Micron RAM on a Micron PCB. They are both high quality parts, if I were buying, I would just buy the one that costs less.

Crucial doesn't use Micron chips exclusively. For example my 512 MB stick of PC2100 has Infineon chips.

You don't mean the quality is so different btw Samsung, Hynix, Infineon etc and Crucial, do you?

Yes, there are some samsung chips on Crucial ddr 256mb.

I would buy pc2400, or pc2700 from Samsung, Corsair and some other at same or less price, if I need one.

Last year pricing was reversed--Corsair was the most expensive and Crucial was the cheapest of any quality name brand. It's just the way things work. They both make great RAM.
