Why is chrome so much faster than firefox on my slowass netbook?

Im down visiting family and ive brought my asus UL30a. Its got a dual core 1.2ghz SU2300 celeron (perynn microarch i believe), 3GB of memory and 4500MHD graphics. Firefox is extremely sluggish on this comp, its slow even when just visiting this forum, bogs down even more with 4-5 flash video tabs. Chrome will run smoothly with the same amount of flash videos playing although with either browser the videos may be a bit choppy chrome itself does not bog down.

Im not sure where the bottleneck lies with firefox but i highly suspect its the CPU, the memory is never maxed out but the CPU usage remains high, although never 100%. The 4500MHD is probably what causes flash video choppiness.

Is this the 1 tab = 1 process coming into play with chrome?

Same version of Flash? They use different plugins.

And Chrome is based on Webkit engine. Firefox is Gecko and it simply is slower...

Im not sure which version they are on, ive uninstalled firefox already so i cant check. Flash video aside chrome is still leaps and bounds faster at everything else on this thing.

Well no not really the answer is not in the title. Like i said, with chrome it feels like my i7 920, with firefox its slowass netbook.
