Why is Carson Daly famous?

How did this guy get so popular and get his own late night show, once engaged to Tara Reid, dated numerous stars such as JLH and still work for MTV without disappearing like many of the others?

He must be the most successful MTV VJ ever.

Doesn't he host TRL. That show is very popular with teenage girls. VERRRRY popular. You walk by Times Square during the week and there are hundreds of hot chicks lining up waiting to either get in or get on TV.

He's nothing special. He used to be on a radio station called KOME in san jose back in the day. I think the story was that he went to NY for some awards thing for KOME and MTV liked him for some odd reason.

does he still do stuff for MTV? I haven't watched mtv in months..maybe almost like a year..but in all the times I do get a chance, I haven't seen or heard anything about him. I only hear him on his radio show...carson's daily countdown...and his late night tv show. But once again..I haven't watched mtv in a long while..so I dunno.

He used to be cool..now he's just..ehh. I remember seeing him at a AIDS benefit concert a couple years ago and it was just so cool to hear him talk about the event and whatever. He was dressed down and just very informal...which made him more appealing. Gosh..I was such a teeny bopper in hs...so glad I grew out of that.
