well props to duncan for stepping in between paul and bowen and helped him, looks like duncan knew what stupid bowen is capable of.
Actually, it looks like Duncan was getting in the other player's face. Even when he reaches down he puts his hand on his chest, he didn't grab his hand to help him up. Duncan likes to stick up for his teammates the problem is he shouldn't be (like the infamous Horry shoving Nash game, where there was a play I believe earlier in the game where Duncan got off the bench to go get in somebody's face after a hard foul). I'd be curious if he would do it if it was someone like Shaq or Dwight Howard who is bigger than he is.
I am not saying what they do is right, but I don't get my panties in a bunch if players got into it physically. After all, this is an all male physical sport with muscular athletes, tempers will flare, physical punishment will be dished out.
The issue comes from the league letting certain players get away with it consistently, then when someone who doesn't normally respond does, they start throwing suspensions.
I'm just stating that if Bruce gets away with obvious flagrant things, what will other players start doing? A one game suspension isn't even bad for a 4 million dollar salary.
Oh, no, I'm agreeing with you. Kinda like that case where the guy had reached up and grabbed/hit the other guy in the balls and the guy responded and got a technical or something because of it. After looking at the replay it was clear why the guy reacted like he did. The NBA needs to be more proactive about that kind of stuff, but unfortunately its the nature of sports (where some pathetic individuals feel the need to take cheap shots).
