For a game, it was an obvious flagrant kick. I dont understand how things like this get by

I love Popovichs' excuse for Bowen. He basically said he shouldn't have been suspended because another angle of the replay showed that he didn't actually make contact with Paul.

Even if that is true, that idiot still intentionally tried to kick another player in the head. One game is too easy. They should Ron Artest that guy.

this is the first time he has been suspended I believe. You want them to kick him out of the NBA? what are you, a suns fan?

Didn't you all know? The Spurs never commit a foul and they get fouled every time down the floor.

Poor Timmy looks like he's going to cry every time the refs call a foul on him and look wrong at Manu Flop-gobli and he flies about 50 feet in the opposite direction like he stepped on a land mine.

Spurs are a supremely talented and well coached team, but they're also very dirty.

Agreed though, people generally consider the Spurs to be a fundamental team, but when you have guys like Bowen and Horry on there, they're as bad as the bad boys of Detroit from once upon a time. Bowen is the Roy Williams of the NBA, and has caused numerous injuries and has a reputation for being the dirtiest player in basketball.

But, you can hardly blame him when he always gets away with it all. If I could cheat and give my team an advantage and not suffer any punishments, I'd kick and wail all the time..

Popovich doesn't help the matters any either. After Horry knocked Nash to the sidelines and essentially won the series for the Spurs, Popovich's reaction was essentially, "he did what he did".

All I gotta say is Vince Carter had 53 points in the 3rd quarter before allegedly landing on Bowen's foot...

He's a punk, that's for sure. Yet another reason why the Spurs are easily hateable. Don't think he should be banned from the league though :p - He's just a very aggressive player and has lots of tricks for hurting people. Not that I wouldn't mind seeing him get a 20 game suspension next time he does something like that.

Ain't nothing different from the Bad Boys Pistons in the 80s. Bill Lambier would make Bowen look as soft as Vin Baker.

I am not saying what they do is right, but I don't get my panties in a bunch if players got into it physically. After all, this is an all male physical sport with muscular athletes, tempers will flare, physical punishment will be dished out.

Actually, it looks like Duncan was getting in the other player's face. Even when he reaches down he puts his hand on his chest, he didn't grab his hand to help him up. Duncan likes to stick up for his teammates the problem is he shouldn't be (like the infamous Horry shoving Nash game, where there was a play I believe earlier in the game where Duncan got off the bench to go get in somebody's face after a hard foul). I'd be curious if he would do it if it was someone like Shaq or Dwight Howard who is bigger than he is.

The issue comes from the league letting certain players get away with it consistently, then when someone who doesn't normally respond does, they start throwing suspensions.

I'm just stating that if Bruce gets away with obvious flagrant things, what will other players start doing? A one game suspension isn't even bad for a 4 million dollar salary.
