Why is Anandtech forums so slow to navigate?

it gets slow for me too, sometimes you click a link and it jus stops sending/receiving data and sometimes you gotta click it again, argh!

That's the single biggest improvement I noticed when I subscribed - The forums are MUCH more responsive when accessed through the subscriber forum.

maybe, but it is money well spent as far as i am concerned. if you don't want to pay and continue to use the forums, don't complain.

Well I am glad that you are enjoying yourself with your subscription, but I would've appreciated a better response than your "It's just you." With you being a golden member and all.
 
well i just joined the subscribers, went over to the dark side.

but just now when trying to reply to this, it loaded kinda slow. might be on my side though. you should subscribe, its worth it!

actually because i am a golden member, that is the exact response you should have expected. if i was helpful i would be an Elite member. 😛

From what I understand the forums have been bleeding Anandtech dry so they capped the forums and added a subscriber forum for people who didn't want to deal with bandwith caps.
 
No problems here for the most part, but I've noticed occasional 2-3 minute stretches every day or so when the forum slows to a complete halt and nothing will load for me. The sluggishness doesn't seem to correlate with heavy usage either. Weird. 😕

You can afford just a few bucks a month. How many hours do you spend here a week? I'm here at least 10, so I don't mind at all paying a little money to support the cause, as well as enjoy the increased speed. And the "increased speed" is not a gimmick the lifers and elites are trying to sell you on. It is real! Much faster and more enjoyable. The PM's are faster too. You still get the "this page cannot be displayed" every once in awhile though. Make sure to fill out the forms to the T if you do sign up, you will not find friendly help if there is a problem with your subscriber account!

That statement couldn't be more true. On the other hand, I spend a lot of time here and while I'm severely annoyed that they have purposely made connections for non-subscribers an order of magnitude slower, I think it may be worth the money to subscribe.
