Why is AIM being such a resource hog?

I'm just curous as to why AIM is using about 26 MB of ram and is actually lagging when I move windows and stuff. I can't understand it at all. I've got a halfway decent computer (1600+, 768mb 2100, GF4 Ti4200).

Anyone have any suggestions or reasons as to why this is happening?

No idea, my aim is only taking up about 8 megs.

Do you have a lot of windows open...meaning a bunch of chats going on at the same time?

If so, it *might* help to get DeadAIM. It's a freeware app that does a bunch of stuff, like logging, tabbed windows (Which I think would help the most), and ad removal. (Amongst other things.)

It used to be free, but now I think it's like $5? (Just Google DeadAIM.)

Or you might be able to find someone that has the older version which should suffice.
