I want to get the 4960x for 1k.

Paying double of the 4930k.

4930k 12MB L3 Cache

4960x 15mb L3 Cache

Is 3MB more on L3 going to make it faster then a 4930k ?

They are 100Mhz apart 3.6 and 3.7 ........... Will the 4960x allow for more OCable. Can you hit 4.8Ghz. but also the 4930k can hit 4.8Ghz. What is the difference.. who buys 1k ,, instead of 500 dollars... benchmarks they same ish ?

It will be faster, the extra cache and clockspeed will ensure that.

Is it worth an extra $500? Depends on what $500 is worth to you.

For some, $500 is a cheap bottle of wine, so no problem to pay that extra for a slightly faster processor.

For others, $500 means working an extra 40hrs of overtime at McDonalds, and probably isn't something they'd spend their limited budget on.
