I don't always subscribe to what wiki says but in this case I might have to

:D

Interesting - the only way I'll eat steak is with sauce. Steak just tastes a little bitter to me, and otherwise flavorless. The sauce makes it worthwhile.

Sauce is to season....Not to soggen.
Tasty accent, good.
Covering up all other flavors, bad.

I like A1 sauce on my baked potato. It does not, however, touch the steak (Unless the steak is crap).

It's amazing how bland most Americans' taste is. They'll eat a bland steak and act like it's God's gift to cuisine just because it happens to be a steak.

Because spices IMPROVE even the best steak prepared by the best chef in the best possible cooking method.

True, there are many bad steak sauces. But a good kick of spice helps steak. I perfer my steak sauces to be basically a dry rub, but the amount of moisure in a sauce doesn't affect my point.

You silly Texans and your grass fed cows. Corn fed Iowa beef is where it's at :D

A nicely marbled ribeye cooked medium rare needs nothing but a bit of salt, pepper, and a dab of garlic rubbed on it before grilling.

I shake my head at the people that order sirloin well done and dump half a gallon of sauce on it just to make it edible.

HP is not steak sauce.

Good steak (like good BBQ) don't need sauce.

Marinate it with the rib rub and the A1 overnight, and then I grill it until it's medium rare. I slice it in very fine strips and serve it with horse raddish sauce.

Little bit of salt and pepper to enhance the natural flavor. A HOT cast iron pan. Done.

Perfect steak.

Good filets are still enjoyable even well done. Mind you I'm not talking carbonized tektites that some people eat, but properly cooked cuts.

Oh and HP is definitely steak sauce. Some people treat it as a food group of its own. I could do that but I don't use foul language. :p

It's brown sauce, not steak sauce. It's more of a kind of British ketchup.

Love the A1 -- even with a good steak.

When given to folks that drown a cut with it - it's steak sauce. Never understood the fascination with ketchup either. Then again I'm not typical either. :p
