1) Kids are over exposed and arent mature enough to handle the media.

2) Kids parents put too much pressure on their kids to win.

3) Kids see the coaches bending the rules to win. (Bronx team, and the other teams that were mentioned, and dont forget the ones that dont get caught.)

4) The emphasis on winning is so large, that kids cant handle a loss.

5) There is no need to crown a little league world champion. Local and state champions are enough. Maybe even national.

6) The league officials need to be on top of the rules, before the teams get to the finals.

7) And 9 times out of 10 there are coach/son or some variation politics on these teams

I know people are gonna say, well arent you harsh, or not all parents/coaches are like that. Im not saying that in anyway at all. I know there are good people that are simply there for the enjoyment of the game, and winning at all costs isnt the attitude with some teams/people. But being a past member of a williamsport team that made it to the state finals when i was a kid, i can speak from experience. Kids being forced to play when their arms hurt, parents cursing at coaches when they dont start their kids, kids being depressed for weeks when they lost. It wasnt just from my team it was from a lot of opponets i played too.

I rotated time with another kid on my team, and man did i hear it when i played and he didnt. Like........he sucks, why is he playing. Whatever i got over it, and was the only one of the bunch to be named 5th team all-state in high school= top 60 in NY

Sorry i got off on a tangent, just lemme hear your opinions.

I dont like the way politicians campaign. Lets abolish government.
i think you need a less draconian solution.

i can care less about gov't, im talking about kids and the idea of a very historical meaningful FUN game being destroyed.

Why whenever someone posts a complaint about someone, someone makes an analogy?

Not just the parents, its the league officals and more......maybe you didnt read the whole thing

Hello, UDT.

Much like you, political correctness has rotted my brain to the point of rampant stupidity.

Any ideas on a cure?

The point is that it's not the kids.

Half of those points relate to kids competing at anything, whether its little league or piano or a spelling bee.

Fact is, some people should never be allowed to be parents, and if they don't screw their kids up one way, they'll do their best to do it another way.

competition is part of the American culture. I don't think highly of the Little League World Series. Does anyone even watch this stuff besides the kids' families? What's up with all these over-aged foreigners too? Nonetheless, competition is what America is all about. Anyon ever see the movie "Patton"? General Patton would want us to continue having little league baseball and I agree with him!
