Why I oughta... Can't stand people that are cruel to animals!

This is just awful, I just got home.. click on the tube and am watching the Animal Planet. They are showing this little Dachsund where his eye is completely obliterated. It looks so bad I can barely watch this. The animal police took him away from the owners (I think) I didn't quite get what they said, however the people said someone (owner?) beat the dog in the eye with a hammer! Now they are looking for this person... the policeman is furious. Gawd I am too! I can't stand monsters like this.. this is just horrible. How can someone do this??:|

Meanwhile, children are being abused by thier parents, people are being murdered in the street, etc., and you're pissed about a dog.

While I wouldn't put an animal on the same scale as a person, when it's put right in front of you it's hard to not get upset about it. Even if it is "just a dog"

Tinfoil hat of the day award😱

It is that show Animal Precinct and the police are now saying that the owner was trying to make the dog vicious... now the police are going after the owner... they are really upset and you hear it in their voice. It is just horrible to look at this dogs eye and head. The vet is now preparing for surgery because they will have to take out whats left of his eye and repair the damage.

As though that somehow justifies the wrong? There are always worse wrongs perpetrated by people against children, adults, dogs, and everything in between. I'm sure that somewhere people are being slaughtered as we speak, but that shouldn't be used to minimize anything else.

Let's even forget about the fact that it's "just a dog." It's a defenseless animal that was used as some form of sadistic expression by a POS person. Someone with the capacity for such actions isn't fully human as far as I'm concerned, so the difference between this man and the dog isn't very great.

Personally, I'll take the dog.

Well from the things I have read in the past people who mame, abuse and kill other people in most instances have abused, mamed and killed animals prior to moving on to human beings. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Jeffrey Dahmer do this?

oh please. use your fvcking brain for once. who do you think commits those crimes? people who are kind to animals? if a person is capable of an act like the OP described, he/she is a violent sociopath. and violent sociopaths beat their wives and kill people. so tracking a guy like that down and bringing him to the attention of the police and medical authorities is a good way to prevent future crimes against humans. and even if they let him go eventually (and they will), at least he has this violent crime record so that when he commits a crime against a human, it will be easier for the DA to make a case against him.

I guess, but if you're going to be watching the news, there's plenty of worse things happening to get pissed about.

Here's one I found on CNN.

No one's starting threads about that, though. People are mad about the dog.

Oh yea! Two special police investigators caught the guy who beat his dog in the eye, and he is being charged with felony cruelty to an animal... I just watched them put the cuffs on and he was carrying on.. saying "it's just a damn dog" yadda yadda... "I can't believe my neighbors turned me in"... ha ha ha.. I hope he rots in jail...!

The dog getting hit with a hammer is news just as much as people getting killed is news.

This thread isn't about people getting killed though.
EDIT: and it's not reguler news, or political like P&N is supposed to be...

Asinine comment. These things are not mutually exclusive, you can be upset and care about all of them, as I do.
