All kinds of companies try underhanded things like that, even if they are market leaders.
Example, Ford.
Everyone knows that the F-series is the best selling truck, I mean, there is not even discussion on this. Ford knows this too, but one ford dealership out west was coerced by the parent company to take photographs of a toyota plant being built which was close by. Why? Because the toyota dealership's construction was done using Ford F-series trucks, and they would hang the pictures up in the dealership to show customers even the competition uses their trucks.
However, that is underhanded in more than one way, because it's not toyota building the dealership with fords, it's the construction workers who currently owned fords and came to the toyota job site with them. Totally coincedental, but they used it anyway.
