because of where I live, in a rural area, cable or dsl broadband isn't an option for me. I went from having broadband where I used to live, to then moving and going to dialup. However we found out about a satellite broadband, and it's been pretty good. I download at speeds of around 50-100kb/s. I can't play games, because the data has to go up into the air on the satellite and then back down, so my pings are normally 3 or 4 times higher than with dialup. And it costs 100 bucks a month for the first year, then I think $50 a month after that. Webpages normally take another 5 seconds or so more to load than with dialup. And if you download stuff during regular hours (like 9am-9pm), after a certain amount you download, you'll get bandwith limited, and then it gets so bad even webpages won't load, and you gotta wait an hour or so until they take the limit off. It's not the greatest thing in the world, but if you want faster download speeds, this may be an option for you.
