LOL at the Crapprinterbundle.exe. That's every single consumer level HP printer. Damn I hate those things.

I always get the latest drivers from websites instead of using the old drivers that come on the CDs. I helped setup my parents HP all in one, the download was about 330MB IIRC.

HP doesn't seem to understand that a fucking printer should not take 45 minutes to install.

Article is dead on. I haven't owned a printer since the 90s for exactly these reasons, and if I need to print something I'll do so at work.

Ahhh the Oatmeal does it again....

Really? That passes for funny/insightful?

Yes, printers are noisy. Yes, ink costs a bundle. They certain aren't treading new ground there. Don't like ink costs? Go buy an inexpensive laser printer for prints that don't need to be in color.

Are they really complaining about downloading the latest drivers from a web site? Doesn't everyone do this with every piece of new computer hardware purchased? I certainly do.

Reliability problems? I must admit I haven't purchased a multi-function device, but I don't ever remember having to replace a printer based on a hardware failure. Jams? Guess I am lucky again, no problem there. I do know someone that had a HP MFP die on them after a couple of years so I suppose it does happen to some.

Frankly, I love the ability to print photo quality prints without having to go someplace that does it for me. I also like the ability to print directly on CD and DVD blanks which I do regularly. Although I admit switching out trays for this purpose is a bit annoying.

Yeah, I know they are just ranting but, IMHO, they are not doing a particularly good job.

^that

all of the things the comic pointed out are true. none are funny.

aside from a couple of rare gems, the guy that does these comics appears to have no grasp of humor. just stating something that is true (even vaguely so) does not make it funny. i think this guy dug most of his 'jokes' out of jerry seinfeld's trashcan.

You guys lead pretty dull lives, don't you?

My two cents: I like The Oatmeal's stuff. The printer one was pretty golden, I thought. Tech support was good too.

I found it funny enough to actually forward to a couple coworkers. And I could probably count on one hand the number of jokes I've forwarded at work.

This was spot on for inkjet hell.

I agree, I hestitate to click on the oatmeat links here because its usually not near as funny as the OP will say it is. This one made me laugh a little, mostly at the cyan one. the rest was pretty blah
