Because expensive.
People are still plenty happy with their $100, 21.5" 720p LEDs, neither the consumer nor the business sectors are going to be shelling out $400 per monitor so the blue in their Microsoft Word ribbon is just a little bit prettier. There's no market for it.
People who care about "great black levels for their cinema" are either buying into much nicer home theatre setups, or already buying professional level (very expensive) monitors marketed for the graphic design sector.
I'm a fan of AMOLED. Because the great black levels allow for much better cinema...
So why haven't they happened?
