The problem w/ all of you touting cheap DSL as a way out is.............

DSL IS NOT AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE!!


DSL still has telco hub limitations.

Cable does not.



I live in a 10yr old neighborhood butted up next to a 5yr old neighborhood.....(underground wiring throughout, etc. etc.) and we're too far from the telco and no relays so NO JOY!!! It's cable or satellite & that's it!



Now, Verizon JUST finished patching up our whole neighborhood for all the FIOS stuff. My neighbor's got his box in the ground & I looked & it appears that wires are hooked up so I'm expectin' the switch to turn on any time now.

Is FIOS enough to drive market prices lower???

Here in Sweden it´s pretty fast and cheap, i get 10/10 mbit for about $25 a month, my friend pays $40 a month for 100/10 mbit.
