Why has the dollar's recent rise against the yen not made the news?

Apparently the fall against the yen was the biggest economic story in recent history, but it's recent rise back to 111 is not notable. Hmmm, fascinating, I say!

It's been in the News, just like you said not being screamed on the Nightly News and in here.

Most likely because Japan doesn't pay their employees 20 cents an hour like China. Their structure is getting closer to the U.S. all the time which hasn't bode well for them over the last decade.

It's been up against the Euro and Canadian dollar too.

I think somebody said a while ago the dollar was undervalued...hmmm..

And on here, we only post BAD NEWS, right Dave?

Of course the dollar is undervalued. Just look at the price of gold. In terms of dollars, it looks like it has been rising up in the recent year, but in terms of Euros, gold hasn't really been moving at all. It's just that dollars are being undervalued so gold is getting more expensive in terms of dollars. That's why lately, as the dollar is regaining some value over the past several weeks, gold is slipping in price in terms of dollars.

Before talking about this, you should all learn what the consequences of a rising and falling dollar actually are. You all act like a rising dollar is a great thing on all fronts.

Could it be that recent fall in Feb marks a new 2 year low and that is pretty significant, and te recent rise while notable but still far from the 130+ 2 year high we hit back in the 2002's?

I know how every honest reporting seems to be against your beloved Adminstration....but hey that's just the reality.

the movement of the dollar isn't inherently good or bad. both ways have their pluses and their minuses.

inflation is eminent when the dollar falls.
