Why has television news become all opinions, all the time?

Since they have a really narrow view of what facts we're interested in (eg, anything US-centered that won't get them in trouble or lower their ratings) they have to fill the space somehow.

They aren't reporting opinions exactly, more like pushing selective facts. And it's targeted to morons because they tend to accept whatever they are fed. The media has its own agenda just like everything else. Power. And the heavy influence they carry over the moronic masses gives it to them.
