Why hard disk based system recovery doesn't work

Video is a little over 1mb.

Basically shows a HP that's been disabled by a virus. I guess the clever HP techs forgot to take into account a virus that infects their recovery partition, too:thumbsdown:

Well the recovery partition is useless in the event of hard disk failure too!

That's why I always burn it to optical media when the recovery image is created or if on local network they get sent to a server built for that purpose.
