Well, I ended up getting the S7 Edge a couple days ago because my old HTC m8 decided to take a dive; I won't say into what. That same day I ended up at my provider for a new phone and chose the Samsung just because it was the latest and greatest.

I still had 5 months on my original contract, but I didn't have to pay full price after discussing my options. When the rep told me the price of the phone to buy it outright, my jaw kinda dropped. Anyways, I'm really, so far, really impressed with the features and quality of the phone. I avoided the Galaxy line in the past because it seemed everyone had one and just something about them felt cheap.

I just got the S7 Edge a couple days ago. So far I'm having mixed feelings. It's a beautiful phone with a beautiful display. But the edge keeps causing falls touches, the performance seems to suffer from the usual Touch wiz bloat.

Tempted to consider switching to the HTC 10. Though what turned me off was how bulky that phone looks for its screen size.

I'm not disparaging the S7E but the Htc10 doesn't feel bulky in practice. It has a nice grip so you generally don't have to adjust for the design of the phone. (i.e., shifting grips for larger phones, avoiding the edges for phones with too little bezel, etc.)

The S7E has a surprisingly small footprint and huge battery for its size. The screen is amazing. The edge part I am not really sold on, but because I wanted a larger screen and battery I got sucked into it. It was either that, or the Note 5 without the Samsung Promotion that's going on right now. With the curvature it does appear to capture a bit of light reflection than a flat surfaced phone, not sure if that'll become a major annoyance but I have 14 days to decide.

Coming from a Note 4 I was a bit hesitant due to the fact that the battery is non removable. My Note 4 battery is almost 2 years old and showing it's age, and simple enough I just ordered a new battery from Amazon.
