I think the better question to ask people is "Why aren't you doing any distributed computing at all?" I just look at all the computers burning cycles at the company I'm interning at and think "The TeAm (or even the company) could be #1 in most projects in 2 seconds if I had the chance to install a DC program on even the desktops in one building. Now if I was a full-time IT person with some experience in the job at the company, I'd think about broaching the idea. It's like a big charitible contribution that doesn't require much extra money.
I agree with you scoser, but, unfortunately, if most companies are like the one I work at, the systems have barely enough memory or processing power to boot let alone anything else. What a bunch of tight wads anyway :disgust:
