why doesnt the publisher state no discounts for first X months? if the sellers are willing to take 10% profit from the sale, the publisher could just jack up the price to the wholesellers while still maintaining the suggested retail price.
ie: retail price is $35. Amazon is selling for $18. Publisher could sell the book for $30 to wholesellers for first x months to maximize profits.
