It would be more expensive
It would not be compatible with current PC DVD-ROM drives
It would be heavier and more expensive to ship
They couldn't make CD/DVD players as one unit
They couldn't make multi-disk DVD players

Sorry, mate :)

Handle your DVDs with care, injure anyone who chooses not to.

expensive blah, they wouldn't need to make these big plastic cases they currently make.
The entire point is that this should have been done BEFORE DVD spec was finalize.
Lightweight plastics are your friend
Make cartridges where cds could be inserted
i see your point, but it's still possible ;)

Why cars suck:

They crash too easily.
They should have put them on rails like trains.

DVDs also suck because of:
1. bad compression. Watch them on a very good TV and you will see what I mean (especially dark areas!!)
2. bad resolution.

coolVariable sucks because:
he uses bad instead of poor :p

I have no problem with DVD quality. Of course there can be better...but that will always be the case.

DVD quality was the best that could have been done back when it came available - hopefully HDDVD will fix its flaws (MPEG-4 1080P with DTS/MLP Audio)

I love DVDs, better than those old VHS tapes that get eaten up by the VCR or they begin to get de-magnetized and give you horrible picture quality.. Only down fall is if you loan them out to a friend and they don't take care of it, it'll end up all scratched up.

Been using this for a while, doesn't make them more scratch resistant, but if you can throw away the scratched one & re-copy it, so much the better...

DVD X Copy

IMHO, it's the "killer app" for DVD burners;)

Sorry, mate :)

you are COMPLETELY misinformed. You could still have a dvd player that took a cartridge without the need for a caddy system.

Look at this thread link

VBBoy did you read my post in that thread. You would see that one of your statements is COMPLETELY wrong.
