Why don't we just have a USA inspection?

Seriously- since the U.S. has some of the info that we are blocking from the U.N. why don't we just say to Iraq.... "Alright, WE, the USA... want to inspect you since you claim to have no WMD. You can even follow us where we search- no questions asked, no bloodshed, no war."

Lets take our 200,000 troops and occupy Iraq and inspect Iraq with them- find what we need to find- SHOW THE UN- induce the UN into taking action by having proof.

Sorry its late excuse my blunt stupidity.

That would be a better solution than war. However, Saddam would not go for that.

Essentially, we want to invade Iraq so we can conduct our own thorough inspections as it is apparent that the UN's inspections are a farce.

Judging by Blix's verbal report, you are correct.

Even before we found out that the inspectors were being deceptive, it was apparent that they were a farce.

If they were working no one could argue about the weapons Iraq has. We'd all know for sure exactly what they have.

The inspections should be unconditional - the only way to accomplish this is to remove Saddam. Hence, if he leaves the country war can be avoided.

lol thought this thread was going to suggest that the US be searched for WMD

Actually the US is subject to inspections. Arms treatys with russia/soviet union required them.

yip, I have personally talked to a few of the Soviet Inspectors when they came to inspect Wueshheim Air Station in the old West Germany for compliance with the Tactical Nuke treaty (BGM-109's). Then when I was stationed at Grand Forks AFB ND the Soviet Inspectors came again to check our SALTY II treaty with destroying a number of our Minuteman silos. Again I got to talk to them because they came and "searched" our security police command center and I happend to be the on duty Desk Sergeant.
