why don't they make pre-cooked pasta?

or do they?

just something that occured to me while reading that olive garden thread... pretty much all pasta is cooked the same, and at least personally, I only find the big difference comes from the sauce. you'd think they'd make pre-cooked pasta that you could just add to your own sauce and have two fewer dishes to wash after you're done cooking.

They do. In the UK at least you can buy microwave pasta that takes like 2 minutes to heat up.

To my knowledge, cooking pasta involves a pot and something to strain the pasta. That's not really a whole lot of dishes to worry about.

If you want it with sauce, it comes like that. It's called "Chef Boyardee." :p

but they do. they are in your supermarket's refrigerated section and they come packaged with a ready-to-eat sauce. just heat and mix.

Buy or make it fresh rather than dry and it takes less time to cook. Or alternatively opt for thin varieties such as spaghettini. It really takes no time at all. Non issue.

I know that supermarkets have frozen pasta. Takes the same amount of time to unfreeze in boiling water than normal boxed pasta takes to cook

As others have said, they do.. the issue with it, is that it can spoil once water is added.

So you'll find it in the cold section, not in vacuum packs that will last for 3 weeks.

I predict that in 10 years supermarkets will just be one giant pre-prepared frozen foods section!

I seem to recall seeing frozen peanut butter & jelly sandwiches...so I'd have to say yes.

"This baby will flash-fry a buffalo in sixty seconds."

"Aww, sixty seconds, I wanted it now!"

That sounds nasty and laziness taken to a whole new level.

They do, it's just horrible.

And no, pasta is not all the same. Not even close.
