why don't they make good cartoons like GI Joe anymore

Because people are more concerned with crap like science, school and that garbage than creating quality entertainment.
Sad world.

only gripe i had about gi joe is that no one got shot, thousand upon thousands of laser beams in each battle scene and not one person ever got hit even though they were running around them.

I always thought they were really good too...till i saw em a few months ago along with Thundercats...and i remember them being better. In fact..they actually kinda sucked. Ill still watch em for nostalgia sake though. I'm 25 now...so i love all that 80s stuff.

Have you actually watched those old GI Joe cartoons as an adult? They are super cheesy now and actually kind of boring compared to the shows on today. I loved GI Joe and Transformers as a kid, but I have to admit that shows like Samauri Jack are superior in every way.

The GI Joe comic book, on the other hand, was some subversive stuff. Larry Hama worked in some dark stuff into that comic (Snake Eyes getting his face burned off by aviation fuel during what looked a lot like the aborted Iran hostage rescue attempt Operation Eagle Claw, Storm Shadow joining Cobra to find the assassin that killed his old ninja master) the that made it transcend the genre of toy-tie in comics.

Did anyone see the one where the sailor dude was with his family at home, but was really on an island and they were clay puppets of sorts and all started melting and trying to kill him. I have no idea what it was about, but I saw it when I was in gradeschool and it tripped my ass out bad.

Didn't Shipwreck (the sailor dude/lost member of the Village People) also at some point have a romantic relationship with this chick that some mad Cobra scientist turned into a mermaid? That one was pretty trippy as well.
