Why don't they make external USB 2.0 or Firewire enclosures for slim optical drives?

I am curious. Is there some design limitation? They make so many nice looking 2.5" drive enclosures, why not do the same with slim CDRWs?

yep they do make them, but most slim optical drives sold are meant for laptop add-ons and they have special enclosures that can either match the laptop style-wise or be bus powered, or both. These enclosures look nice but the extra wires make them kind of a pain, but hey, they're portable!
