Why don't they make 2.35:1 displays for movie viewing?

I use 16:10 on the desktop and the bars are still noticeable. 2800x1200 would be close enough. :)

just get two screens, run it 3200x1200
Use the scan and pan on powerdvd, cutting on the side 1".

Coz people who watch movies on computer monitors usually aren't too serious about the quality or keeping the aspect ratio.

Thats my guess. I think most would think that anybody that really cared about aspect ratios and such would just ger a real HT set up.

Two monitors for watching movies = yuck.

There is no problem watching movies on a 24-30" TFT. Looks way better than ANY tv period.

I suppose the only way to realise this is to go with a high end projector.

Because there are just as many movies made at 1.85:1 and they arent going to work to well on 2.35:1 display. You would end up with bars on the sides if you want to keep proper AR.
