With lapping a rare but existent practice in the never-ending quest of cooling hot CPUs, why won't Intel just make a god damn flat IHS to begin with? The True120 was I believe slightly convex in order to conform to the concave shape of the Intel CPU IHS (am I right?). Nowadays the recent aftermarket coolers are more flat than anything.
But the question remains: why won't CPU manufacturers make the IHS flat in the first place?
