that is utter BS. it's my understanding that bicyclists are responsible to obey the LAW when riding in the street, just like any other vehicle. If bicyclists can do whatever they want, why can't motocyclers / dirt bikes / mini bikes, or horses? bicyclists are not immune to the traffic laws, and if they'd rather not have to obey them then they should stick to the sidewalk. It pisses me off when people on a bicycle think they are above the law.:|
I once saw a guy on a bike ride amongst traffic on a two-lane one-way street, and decided he didn't have to stop for the red lights, so he just went on through, right in the middle of the street. not smart, not legal.
