I know a lot of you here take your stuff to Ebay without even trying the FS/T board. I posted a thread on the board at 11:22 & I had Paypal by 11:39. One of the fastest transactions ive ever had. So how come people go to egay without giving FS/T a try?

All the smart people are on AT. You get more from the stupid bidders on ebay.

Why are you instantly assuming most people take their stuff to eBay first?

Assuming you are right though - the geeks in FS/FT are bargain hunters and know the market value. eBays are morons. On one hand you have a lot of profit, the other not so much/at a loss.

i dont use it to sell stuff cause all these people who have a lot of extra heat (which i dont really trust) expect me to ship before they pay. I haven't seen anything as absurd as that except here. I dont use it to buy cause people have terrible prices and there are always threads about such and such is a troll and hes not shipping his stuff etc. all the members seem shady to me.

Now a days there are tons of people who will NOT ship first with no heatware and that makes them look like they're trying to rip you off. The trolls are popping up left and right it's so rampant that it's annoying.

I would use FS/T even if it meant a 10-20% difference in profit. Much more reliable, people ship much faster and pack better than on ebay. I have done 70+ transactions on FS/T and have run into a troll only once, and even he eventually paid up.

You buy everything from places like newegg, other online retailers, etc. then?

Profit margin is larger on ebay.

yes yes. even with ebay & paypal taking all their cuts, for a decently priced item, ebay is the way. I also feel that anyone selling something rare or potential profit, shouldn't be selling here. ebay is the more appropriate place for that as well.

Extra cash on ebay, though at a higher risk.

I tried to sell here, I don't like the rules. I won't mention which ones. Never will sell here again. People lowball with insulting offers. People ask for free shipping even when they are getting an excellent price. I can tell when people are giving out lowball offers for an item when I see a thread with a bunch of YGPM and then followed up a few hours later with a bump.

You get less here but on small items it's easier and cheaper than ebay. Don't have to post fancy pictures of lots of information here. You put down Asus P4PE here and every buyer knows exactly what you are selling without you having to write a long description or posting tons of pictures. Put it here for $10 or $15 less than they go on ebay and you are pretty much guaranteed to sell it.

I totally disagree that profits are better on Ebay.

Between the listing, final value and PayPal fees on Ebay, the profits are much better here. Not to mention having to deal with all the PITA's there. I have sold on FS/Trade here and the people are nice, the transactions are smoother and the profits are better.

🙂

I find that if you set your price a little lower than ebay you can get it sold with the quickness. However, if you overprice your item like some people do on ebay, you'll have a helluva hard time selling it here.
