that and its harder to memorize the icq #s ever since they went to 7 digits.

Also, in order to communicate with other people, you must speak their language (aim/irc)
 
AIM has more ads, I hate the freaking animated image directly smack dab at the top of the buddy list. With ICQ you can patch the program and remove ALL ads (don't ask me how, I'm not going to tell you.) The only reason I would ever use AIM with their client is to chat with people on mobile phones through SMS.

ICQ > AIM always, too bad most of the sheep use AIM.

I've been on ICQ for like.. years(ICQ# 8235397).. and can count all the spam messages I've gotten on 1 hand.

My aim has NO ads at all. And i didn't pay the $5 for that aim+ crap either (nor did i steal it).

No, you weren't. I used to have a 6-digit number.
 
I beat all of you... my ICQ number is:
32xxxx (6 digits)

And it is still active (I use it everyday)...

 
Mine used to be 6 digits then I accidently deleted it and got a 7 digit one. Doh. I still use it.

The problem is that the world fell into the AOL instant messager thing, because they thought it was the only one. Now if I ever want to talk to anyone, its always AIM, sometimes MSN messenger. They win.
