Why don't people eat cats?

It's a well known fact that people eat dogs, rats and just about every other type of animal. I am wondering why nobody eats cats? There are far too many of them and we need to find a useful way to dispose of the vermin.

As a very young child (4 or 5) I made a promise to myself that I am now about to break. My friends step mother wanted to eat rabbit one day. So she gave me $35 to goto the meat store and get us a nice fat rabbit while her son was doing his homework.

Well upon getting to the store I found out cats only costed $4 across the street. So I bought a fat cat instead and pocketed the rest of the money knowing she will not cook it, she will have her house maid do the dirty work. I had the cat put down and went to the meat department of a local store and had it skinned ($1.50 or so).
Well the end result was cats do not taste like rabbit. Must definately not chicken either. The house maid ended having to find a different part of the house to work in for bad cooking a couple days later for ruining prime rib... although I think to this day the cat had something to do with it.

Does no one else find it ironic that the originator of this thread is named HappyPuppy? I sense an ulterior motive.... 🙂

There's this old chinese saying, crudely translated is that "anything that with their back against the sky, someone will eat it."
