Why don't my games install?

I've recently had to change my motherboard and by doing so a couple of games don't install now. Everything else in the computer I carried over to the new setup (with the exception of a new video card). I went from an FIC AU13 to a Gigabyte GA-7VT600 1394. Is there some IDE problem on the board? Or is it a bad copy of the game? To be specific the games are World of Warcraft and Postal 2: Share the Pain. Also, if I install World of Warcraft using my burner drive it finishes installation but when I patch it it finds a checksum error.

Current system specs
AMD Athlon XP 3200+
Gigabyte GA-7VT600 1394
1GB Kingston PC3200 DDR HyperX
Gigabyte Geforce 6600 GT AGP
AOpen 16x DVD-Rom (48x cd-rom)
Plextor 24/10/40A Burner

There are problems with the 1.4.0 Patch getting a 'Checksum error'.

The work around is to either download the "Standalone Patch" or install
the patch in 'Safe Mode'.

To install from Safe Mode, go to your World of Warcraft install directory
and run the 'BNUpdate.exe' file.

The Standalone Patch is available from Blizzards website.

With POSTAL 2, are you installing ffrom the CD or DVD?

Well I tried Postal 2 using the cd burner and one of the files still recieve a crc checksum error during extraction. Also, the computer just stopped and the screen went blank. No BSOD, just froze up. I haven't been able to get World of Warcraft to patch either. I think I'm gonna stop using these games before I damage my system any more than it is. Thanks for the help.
