Why don't Jedi switch off the other person's lightsaber in the middle of a fight?

If they can use the force to push objects, they should push the on/off button.

There's probably a locking mechanism or something. Can you imagine the saber accidentally turning on while it's tucked in your pants?

Because using the Force to cheat in a duel would be frowned upon by the Jedi Masters? :p

Obi-wan tampered with Anakin's right hand while battling at Mustafar, according to the book

yes, there is! the one i got for my friend had one... and also, luke uses his lightsaber before he learns he possesses the force. i'm guessing there has to be a on/off button if he used it?

Too bad the movie neglected this and every other good thing in the book not to mention dialog for those of us who graduated from 2nd grade. -_-

Yeah, Han even uses the light saber to cut open his ride for warmth. I would assume, though, that if you possess the force and are using it to fight with a light-saber, then the saber would stay on because you will it to be so.

why can't a jedi swing and spin the light saber Greivous style and then use the force and pull the enemy towards that spinning saber?

dont have to do crap, just stand there and watch the body-mess fly

The force of a jedi can be countered easy as you saw many times when Yoda stops what is being thrown at him and during the battle between Obi wan and anakin at the end where they ended up throwing each other because their force powers simply rebounded off each others when they were in deadlock.

And plus I think one needs to concentrate on blocking that glow stick when it comes at your face. :p

that would probably one of the first things they learn to counter when they begin lightsaber fighting
