Why don't big name rappers get killed more often?

Every once and a while you hear about some rapper getting killed. Tupac, Biggie, Proof.

Considering the lifesytyle and group of people they generally speak about and the people they associate with, you might think that they piss people off and there would be more violent confrontations because of it.

I'm curious to know why you these guys don't get killed more often?

I don't know, but one could only hope that it would occur more often, preventing them from making more crappy noise.

There was a time when the average Joe Rockstar was someone who had abused every known form of drugs, consumed more alcohol than water, slept with every ho within a 500-mile radius, had a traumatic childhood and was the the King of his own tragic kingdom. Nervous breakdowns and being wheeled to the ER was a frequent event.

I think most current rappers (like most current rockers) try to portray that same image of recklessness, self-loathing & aggression...but they really aren't on the same lines. They are trying to emulate their Roots & Influences...but that's what it is, just mere imitation.

Of course, there are some scum rappers out there...but most of them (at least the really popular ones) seem kinda harmless. They just talk a lotta crap.

I imagine there is a lot of talk and that they certainly don't live life exactly the way they describe, but they do talk about (and involve themselves to a degree) the life that a lot of people do live.

I would assume that lots of these people might take exception to the things they rap about and they would be targeting these rappers.

why would they take exception, they relate to what they rap about. plus they have large security details and entourages.

Darwinism...

All the dumb ones... the guys who still felt the need to live the "gansta" lifestyle after making bazillions of dollars are gone. The guys who felt the "gangsta" lifestyle was better suited to their videos than their lives are still around. They bought mansions in Santa Barbara, not East LA.

I don't know. Maybe every major or mainstream media outlet on this earth?

/Just took this thread in a direction.

Edit: Seriously though, my neighbors could count. I need Michael Richards to come out here and tell those guys to STFU because I'm sick to death of listening to thumping subwoofers in the back of a blinged out, GREEN HONDA ACCORD.

They have body guards and stuff. There are always stories of shootings and fights going on with their crews.

Cus they live in Beverly Hills and not Compton?
Also, even cities like Oakland which have high murder rates only have maybe 100 people murdered a year out of several million.

because after they start rapping and get rich and don't live in the hood anymore?

A lot of them ARE really from bad areas and did grow up that way, but not anymore..
