Why don't AMG cars come with manual transmission?

my love affair with the beautiful C55 has come to a halt. AMG officially screams "a snob's wannabe performance car" instead of "the ultimate sports car", which BMW can still claim.

you make it sound like not wanting to drive stickshift makes you a pussy...not everyone wants that feature. in fact, many ppl don't
 
Probably because many new auto gear boxes will shift faster than even a very good driver. Not to say I wouldn't rather have a manual over an auto but if the performance was the same or better I wouldn't have qualms about buying one (assuming I even remotely had the means to do so)
 
I don't care about the millisecond it is faster to shift then it does me. I'd rather drive a full manual because it is more fun being able to rev to whatever I want in whatever gear I want 🙂

I've always driven a manual being in England and driving an auto was weird for me.

A powerful car with a auto like that? No thanks I'll take a full manual please! I wouldn't pretend to go out and race as I clearly wouldn't if ever 😛

"Another example of technology transferred from the racetrack to the Mercedes-AMG transmission is fingertip manual mode. The driver can make rapid, Formula-1-type gear shifts by pressing either of two steering wheel mounted shift buttons. Press the button on the left side of the steering wheel to shift down. Press the button on the right to shift up. With fingertip manual mode the driver has full control of all gear changes and SpeedShift only intervenes when the car comes to a stop in high gear, or to shift up at redline."

You can still rev to whatever you want, just switch modes.
 
The utterly insane amounts of torque for one. The 55 and 65AMG motors produce anything up to around 650Ft/lb of torque. It takes a full race dog box and a paddle clutch to take that sort of punishment day in day out(which would also be undriveable in a real world scenario).

I'd rather have the manual. I feel like I'm driving a golf cart or something whenever I drive auto.
