Why doesn't the House of Representatives draw up impeachment articles against Obama?

War Powers Resolution. Meaning, that congress has essentially already approved all presidents to go to any war for up to 90 days. That is how Bush got us into Iraq and he didn't get impeached.

Why they don't impeach is up to them. Maybe they are realizing that impeachment should be for actual serious issues, and not for petty dislikes of the current president. And since Obama is following the war powers resolution, even if Lybia is a serious issue, he isn't violating any law there.

On Iraq we had a vote first. However, the military was already moved overseas and staged ready for war. I think for what we did we should of had to have a declaration of war.

I think this thing in Libya is very questionable. They are not threatening or even planning on attacking the USA. However, now they have the justification to do so since we attacked them for no real reason. Americans are terrorists.

There was a vote in congress, but it wasn't a vote that declared war. It authorized military force, but it didn't actually declare war. Subtle difference, yes. But since this thread is about subtle differences, I thought that I'd throw it in.

This is why elected officials don't ask people like you about every move they make. Most Americans have no idea about what is allowable under law and what isn't. They just see sensational headlines and jump to conclusions.

Just for the record, I don't think this is something to attempt to impeach Obama for. From the articles I've seen from a news source despised by the left, he is operating well within the powers of the office - as long as this is quick.

I'm not happy with a no-fly zone turning into what amounts to acts of war. I'm not happy with the cost that we certainly can't bear right now. But, if it garners us some much needed respect in some parts of the world that's a good thing. Somehow though, I just don't see Arab nations making us out to be the good guys in this endeavor.

Remains to be seen I guess.
