Why doesn't my spam have advertisements in it?

It seems like half of the spam/junk mail I get doesn't even advertise anything. I don't get that.

I will get emails with random subjects from random people, and then if I open it, all it will have is a few numbers or a random paragraph from a novel...

Wth?

They are probably vehicles to deliver viruses. Stop typing your email address in untrusted places.

I try to be very careful with my email...

I think that I must have put it in ONE wrong spot a few months back, and I ended up being sold over and over
