Why doesn't my mini-PCI cards work?

I got a HP EliteBook 8530p, and i can't get any of my network cards to work.
The two cards I've try'd is Intel WiFi 5100 and AzureWave AW-NE771.
I've tryed to download drivers to both of them, but the laptop doesn'trecognize them at all.

When i got the laptop, there wasn't any network cards in it so I haven't used it for like 2 years.

Any help on why they don't work or
any suggestions of a network card i can use?

And i can't turn on the WLAN "Touch" button either. It's red all the time. Can this be because of the firmware being locked?

If that's the problem, is there any way to "unlock" it?

I've never heard of a way. I know a lot of companies do it where the card firmware is specific. Usually you have to buy a card that has say an HP part number on eBay or something.
