Last I checked they are losing market share and delivering crappy products.

And I cant believe this thread even exists. Apple went through a real firestorm for about 15 years building their own PCs only now thanks to the resurgence of OSX and the iPod does Apple have a fighting chance.
 
look at IBM. they gave the heave-ho to their flailing comp hardware line and now focus solely on selling "solutions" i.e. much higher profit margins

in this day and age, computer equipment has become practically commoditized and will always go to the lowest bidder..very little money to be had there unless you are incredible streamlined and know how to effectively outsource and offshore (aka dell)
