Why doesn't Blackberry have a better mobile browser?

As a verdant BB user, I wish we had something like Safari available - but we just don't. Opera Mini is good but pales in comparison to Safari on the iPhone. Does anyone have any experience with Firefox Mobile, which is (I think) coming out in January?

Never used any other mobile browsers, but I don't doubt it.

I'll try FF Mobile when its out for sure. Opera Mini works for now though.

Yeah... why hasn't anyone ported Firefox to the mobile platforms yet? It's open source, so I'd imagine that it would be easier to develop than writing a new browser from scratch.

the firefox team is working on a mobile version, the code name is Fennec. I think there is an alpha or beta floating about.

It's probably because the OS hasn't really been revamped a while and there's no horizontal scrolling on Blackberries?

Oh wells, whatever. Blackberries are awesome and I keep wanting to go back to one.

Not supported by BBs yet last time I checked.

OS not been revamped? 4.6 and 4.7 are quite different animals to 4.2 and the like, and as for horizontal scrolling...lol, of course it can.

When do you think of the storm? I'm getting one to replace my curve and seen mixed reviews on the internet about the bb storm,

Cheers,

I love it a lot, a lot of people say its slow, its bad etc, no apps blah blah blah, the iphone wasnt any good 3 weeks after it came out, SURRRRe 2 years later after 2 years of updates and many people making apps for it, its good, so I am sure the storm will reach that point in no time.

as for the click, I like it a lot, makes using the phone a lot better, because I can press on something but not actually click on it! it takes some time getting used to, but its great
