Why doesn't AutoZone allow black people to talk in their commercials?

I've noticed this in at least 3 of their commercials. I can only find a youtube for one of them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XSH3FuSaxU

There is another where 2 guys are out fishing, and another where they are out camping. Every time it's just some white guy rambling on about how great AutoZone his, while the black feller just nods his head. They don't even let him breathe with his mouth open.

Folks refer to it as VatoZone around these parts as well, yet they aren't in the commercials either.

Anyone else noticed?

Jeez, you're the type of audience I hate doing things for. I remember once I was designing something for a college graduation thing and I couldn't put anything in like a glass ball so I won't insult anybody. :p

Good question. I was wondering the same thing but I didn't ask because I thought I'd be disappointed with the answer.

Have you ever considered that their demographic testing has told them to target white, middle-aged males?

I guess that would make sense. They have the black and Latino market already shopping their.

It's just distracting that the guy doesn't even open his mouth. Kinda like noticing the cock on that fox in the Crazy Fox "work from home" commercials (see my other thread). I hate commercials... :(

You should definitely talk to all the customers of my Auto Zone, most of them are black and obviously aren't aware of this travesty.

WTF people still watch commercials, and actually notice this???

My DVR spoiles me endlessly...
