Why doesn't Angelina Jolie have her own babies instead of adopting?

to adopt such a young child in the US takes years.

not that it matters. she is takeing a kid who's life is was going ot be very bad and now he has a good chance.

while i would like it if she adopted a US child i am not going to say anything bad about her (and i do not like her as an actress and do not find her "hot") for this.

I had no idea she had her own kid. My life is far too busy to do research on it. I see things on the front page of CNN and newspapers; both of which I read daily. And so I comment.

The fact that you were unaware that Jolie gave birth is understandable, but since YOU chose to make it a big part of your rant/question (as evidenced in your title) you should at the very least be chagrined at being in error, since it also weakens your argument/rant.

Sure; it's nice that's she's adopting children that would probably be euthanized by their respective third world governments before they reached reproductive maturity. But I want to see where these kids are at 10 years from now when it's not fashionable to adopt a pet anymore. Will these kids be attending some private school in the states with a trust fund ineritance...or will they be plowing a field back in their native homeland after Barbie loses interest in her new pets?

it doesnt work that way with adoption. they're yours. there are laws about abadoning your children. plus think of all the bad publicity.

at first i thought she adopted because she didnt want to lose her figure by getting preggo.

it's either a over the top publicity stunt, or she really cares and wants to help. i believe in the latter till she does a Britney

I've always liked Angelina Jolie, not just because she's hot. These kids she adopts are often from poor countries - i don't think they're complaining about being the children of millionaires.

Britney SPears has had her own kids, yet I have a feeling Angelina's the better parent.

Poor upbrining? I doubt if its any worse than the trailer you grew up in.

How is it self serving? She is giving kids growing up in the worst possible situation a chance to live a good life. What difference does it make if the kid is from the "hood" in Compton or a village in Africa? A kid is just a kid.

I hope your wife isnt as ignorant as you are. I am glad you dont have a chance to fill your kid with the drivel that you believe in.

To be fair, in the linked thread, you wrote off Pakistan and India as 'uncivilized' and their music as 'historically insignificant'. You pretty much wrote off billions of people because they are not like you. Without getting into that whole thing, it's hardly a polite thing to do.

So...why'd she stop? Why not continue? Why not adopt locally? The USA is full of white/black/asian/indian/slovak/whatever you want babies. Why go to remote third world countries?

I don't know, but here's a good guess - to help someone who needs help more? To raise awareness of the plight of people in other areas of the world? An unadopted child in the United States is not going to die of starvation.

We have social services here to ensure that children can get necessary food and medical treatment. If a mother cannot care for her child, she can leave it at any hospital or police station without repercussions and it will be cared for. If a child dies of starvation in the United States, it's because of willful neglect by the parents.

Obviously the point of my statement was clear - children in parts of Africa are much more likely to die without intervention than children in the US. sm8000 is just picking at nits.
