why does your blood turn dark when you have a fever?

Blood becomes a darker crimson color with lower oxygen absorbtion. This is why blood in arteries is bright red (a lot of oxygen) and blood in veins is darker (less oxygen, more carbon dioxide).

True but this isn't the case when you have a fever. Blood is the same color. Oxygen prefusion remains unchanged.

I never said that the blood changes color when you have a fever, I was just describing why you can see different shades of blood when you bleed. I personally have never paid that much attention to notice the color difference from when I am healthy or sick.

I notice every time I have a fever (not just sick), my zits are all dark and if I pop one of them, all this very dark almost black blood spills out. and the last few days when I've had a fever, I noticed that this bruise I have on my arm got really dark

THat's seriously disgusting and a violation of AT TMI protocol.

Thats because it is blood that is no longer being circulated through the body. No O2, no red blood. Simple enough, has nothing to do with a fever. You get the pimples because you are sick and your immunity is low. Thats all.
